The Importance of Climbing Trees and other Risky Behavior

Risk taking... That is what I love about nature programs that give kids the opportunity to interact with their environment.

When children explore nature they often find creative ways to push person boundaries (in a good way.) They see other kids holding bugs, not being afraid of bees, climbing trees, jumping off things, getting dirty, walking even when tired, jumping off things, etc.

They learn what there bodies are capable of physically doing and how/when to set their own limits. This type of healthy risk taking builds self-esteem and positive mind sets!

Nature Song camps are a great opportunity for children to build independence and self-confidence. My goal is to give children the autonomy to make decisions for themselves that help them grow.
