Nature Song Summer Camps offer three intertwined paths, adventure and imagination. Whether wading through streams, creating art, tending an orchard, or building worlds together through play, children are supported in forming friendships, strengthening social and emotional skills, and developing a sense of belonging to place and community.

Thrive
Thrive Camps go beyond traditional camps by centering children’s wellness at the heart of everything we do. Kids form strong relationships with themselves, their peers, and the land, creating a foundation of confidence, connection, and resilience that lasts far beyond the camp experience.
Orchard Camp
This summer, I’m partnering with Friends of Boyer’s Orchard to invite children into one of Anchorage’s hidden gems. This camp is designed to be playful and meaningful, giving children the opportunity to build a relationship with the land, feel a sense of belonging, and contribute to the care of a shared place, while having so much fun.
Orchard Care & Stewardship
Children will be invited to help care for the orchard through watering, mulching, composting, light weeding, and seasonal projects. Along the way, they will learn about stewardship, the trees, soil, pollinators, and the orchard ecosystem through hands-on exploration, stories, and play.
Art in the Orchard
Art activities are inspired by both the setting and the children. I love creating large-scale, sensory, and imaginative art experiences that go beyond the usual markers and coloring sheets.
Group Games & Team Challenges
Group games build connection and shared joy! I have a top ten list of favorite games that kids love at all my camps.
Story & Circle Time
Daily circle time includes storytelling and simple social-emotional practices, such as yoga in the trees, sit spots, meditation, and social stories.

Imagination
Fairy Camp
Imagination camps are guided magical experience, where children step into enchanted world of storytelling and creativity. Through facilitated activities, they embrace wonder, and connect with others in a shared, imaginative space.
Fairy Camp Session I
This Fairy Session is designed for first-time Fairy Camp participants. The camp blends theater and imagination, with me serving as the story narrator who guides children through a world of special, imaginative fun. We journey through John’s Park on a scavenger-hunt-style adventure, exploring the 22-acre forest while building fairy houses along the way and following an unfolding fairy tale. The storyline is exciting and rich with imagination. On our final day, children create their own fairy house to bring home, and we end with a dress-up tea party.
Note: To keep the experience fresh for everyone, this session is intended for children who have not attended this camp before. Returning campers are warmly encouraged to join Session II instead.
Fairy Camp Session II
This Fairy Session is open to children who have completed Fairy Session I and are ready for a new adventure, and to children who are new to Fairy Camp. We’ll enjoy all the wonderful elements of the original camp, including imaginative storytelling, forest exploration, and fairy play, along with a fresh twist. I’ll share a spin-off of the original Fairy Camp story, and children will create magical felted fairies and mix special potions to take home.

Camp Facilitator
Amy Rupp
Amy was a teacher in the Anchorage Public School District for nine year and enjoyed teaching and working with children but longed to provide opportunities for children to experience a deeper connection to nature, themselves, and others. In 2015, she started Nature Song to support this mission and to find other families that wanted to build a community with nature as their anchor. It started out as a nature-based cooperative for toddlers and soon expanded into a drop-off preschool, summer camp and now a variety of opportunities to connect to art, nature, storytelling, play, and community.
