Moon Cycle Circles

Gentle, empowering menstruation circles for youth ages 9–13.

Moon Cycle Circles are warm, welcoming gatherings where youth can explore the changes of growing up with curiosity, creativity, and confidence. Through meaningful conversations and hands-on experiences, we gently introduce the menstrual cycle and its inner seasons in a way that feels natural, inclusive, and empowering.

What is Offered

The two-session circles focus on body literacy, self-kindness, and building comfort with the topic of menstruation.

Each session includes:

  • Art and journaling in their own Seasons of Me booklet

  • Creative metaphors for understanding the cycle

  • Simple crafts

  • Group sharing, laughter, and lots of reassurance

Why the Seasons?
We use the rhythm of the natural seasons, Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall, as a way to describe the inner experience of a cycle. It helps kids understand that feelings shift, energy changes, and all of it is part of being human.

What You Can Expect

Moon Cycle Circles are small (typically 6–10 participants), welcoming gatherings led with warmth, intention, and care. Kids will leave with a personalized booklet, a deeper understanding of what’s happening in their bodies, and the comforting sense that they’re not alone in this journey.

Ideal for:

  • Youth who haven’t started their period yet but are curious

  • Kids who have just begun menstruating and want reassurance

  • Anyone needing a gentle, inclusive introduction to the menstrual cycle

What’s Included:
✔️ Two in-person sessions (about 2 hours each).
✔️ A full-color Seasons of Me booklet for creative expression and reflection.
✔️ A mother-focused Zoom gathering to explore this transition through the lens of Red School’s teachings, offering space to reflect on their own journey and how to use Cycle Wisdom to model and support their own lives.
✔️ An optional, heartfelt ceremony to gently honor our time together and to explore the ‘red thread’ of interconnection.
✔️ A thoughtful guide to help your child imagine and plan their own personal recognition or quiet celebration—shaped by their interests and grounded in authenticity and choice.

Investment:
The cost for the two-session series is $100 to 140 per child, which includes all materials, the Seasons of Me booklet, and access to the optional parent Zoom gathering.

I often host gatherings in my home or backyard garden to keep them cozy and affordable. When held in a rented space, the cost may increase by $20 to $40 to help cover the venue. This offering is a mission from the heart, and I’m committed to making it accessible. If the cost is a barrier, please reach out—there is always room for flexibility and support. Everyone deserves to feel welcomed on this journey. Sometimes the group also contributes collectively to help make participation possible for all families.
