Storytelling to Teach

One of my favorite parts of today was sharing a story about friendship with the girls. The girls sat very still and silent the whole time. 

Stories such as these are very therapeutic. In Waldorf education stories are used to teach because young children live in the imagination. They are deeply nourishing for the heart and soul. A carefully directed story can reach a lot deeper than just words.

When I first started creating stories for my own children this book was a great guide. I have also learned a lot from watching the amazing Waldorf teachers that are in my life.
