Generation Circle Storytelling Anchorage Alaska

History
In 2019, Generation Circle highlighted the stories of seven women from seven different generations. Each shared a personal story around an important theme.

The gatherings were uplifting and inspiring
and those in attendance sang, laughed, cried, and listened whole-heartedly to stories that they connected us to our shared humanity.

Since then, Amy has been exploring ways to meet in this way and was met with the idea of Microsolidarity

Pods
Microsolidarity is based on building relationships within a small group of 4 to 6 individuals. These groups or pods, meet weekly, bi-weekly or monthly around shared interests and to practice reciprocity, the give and take of community. Pods change throughout the year so that community members have the opportunity to build relationships with a wider group of people. As relationships grow, new ideas emerge for gathering and individuals create new pods of interest running primarily on their own without the support of a designated leader. This produces a co-creation of thought, energy, and outcomes. Upcoming Pods

Collaborative
Pods combine into a larger community that meets several times a year in retreat or around a special event, celebration, or gathering and is organized and facilitated by those within the community. A special focus is given to recognizing, honoring, and celebrating life transition within community. Which includes the passing of wisdom and support through peer mentorship, dialog circles, Red Tents and community traditions.

Seeds of Ideas: Women Council, Moon Circles, Heroines Club, Heroes Heart

Join a Pod!

  • Throughout the year my hope is for new pods to created organtically. Some will be open to the public and others will be created by those who have joined past pods and are an active participant in the Nature Song Collective.

  • What is a pod (or in Microsolidarity a crew)?

  • This idea is adaptive and changing. Not one person holds the answers. We are creating a practice of relearning how to BE in community.

  • Upcoming pods - I will try to update this list throughout the year!

I'm excited about what may emerge and can not wait to look back in a year, three years or even ten to see what is created and how this idea ripples into the lives of those who participate.
