Seedling School - A Forest Kindergarten for Ages 5 to 7

A Flexible Cooperative Seedling School

The Seedling School operates as a cooperative with a flexible structure, allowing families to collaborate in ways that suit their individual needs and rhythms rather than being tied to a single location. This openness ensures that families can share consistent, enriching experiences while supporting one another. The program is designed for caregivers who value the experiences they create for their children and believe that involving others leads to mutual benefits. This collaborative approach helps children form lasting social bonds while adults share the planning and leadership of activities that keep homeschooling engaging and dynamic.

Family Pod

Caretakers take an active role in organizing monthly meetups, engaging activities, and learning opportunities. Gatherings are also organized and hosted by the Forest Collective, cultivating yearly traditions that strengthen bonds across generations and foster a sense of belonging within a larger community.

Below is a list of ideas for activities and events that caregivers may want to coordinate with one another.

Online Community

The Seedling School WhatsApp Community is a vibrant space where caregivers come together to coordinate meetups, share resources, and connect throughout the week. Currently home to 17 members, this community is growing, with new threads regularly supporting Nature Song’s mission of building a thoughtful, intentional network. Members can find threads for gift exchanges, Saturday meetups, biking pods, local resources, and Anchorage events, creating an ever-evolving hub for collaboration and support among like-minded families.
