Introducing Generation Teen!

Cassidy Austin-Merlino is the featured storyteller for the upcoming February Generation Circle - An Evening of Storytelling

My name is Cassidy Austin~Merlino and I am a 17 year old from McCarthy/Anchorage, Alaska. I am very excited to share my story about my move to Alaska and finding myself because this was an area in my life in which I discovered my passions, learned healthy methods of coping, and grew immensely as a person. In recent years I have been working very closely with the Climate Strike Movement, doing work against the proposed Pebble Mine, helping uplift the many diverse voices in my community, and much more. As a youth advocate for environmental justice and human rights, I feel it is important to share the story about how I have gotten to where I am today and the aspects of my life that continue to influence my activism. Storytelling in something that builds our community stronger and creates everlasting connections amongst people of all backgrounds so I feel extremely honored and excited to be apart of this project!
