Prenatal Pods:
The transition into parenthood begins long before a child arrives. It often starts quietly, as an inner shift, a reorientation toward care, responsibility, and imagining life in a new way.
This stage, often called matrescence, is not a single moment but a gradual unfolding.
Joining a pod offers a place to begin. A space to explore this emerging identity and to build relationships that are intentionally meant to offer support throughout this journey.
Building Your Village Before Baby Arrives
Together, we focus on building connection before the baby arrives, so support is already taking shape rather than being built in the intensity of postpartum. After the baby arrives, there will also be opportunities to reconnect as a group, allowing the pod to continue in a new form.
Whether this is a first pregnancy or one of many, each pod brings together people in a similar season of life, creating space for connection, shared experience, and support as they prepare to welcome a new baby.
Details
Those expecting a baby within the next 4 months of the start date.
A weekly commitment to meet, 1.5-hour gatherings for 7 weeks
Two additional meetups after the baby arrives to share and celebrate the baby, process birth stories, and explore plans for future gatherings
Guided by Amy Rupp as facilitator and metrescence coach
One sessions include fathers or a chosen support person, exploring parenting together with a focus on shared values, communication, and preparing to welcome and care for a child. (There are opportunities for fathers to continue to meet and Amy’s dream is to find male facilitators to hold this space!)
Between Gatherings
Between gatherings journal prompts will be shared to welcome future refection. These are designed to encourage shared conversation and future planning with a partner or someone in your support circle.

What We Explore
Together
In our time together, we explore:
The nervous system, the changes to our bodies and ways to support regulation through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum
Meaningful conversations around roles, identities, and relationships
Foundations of postpartum care, so you can enter that season with intention
The building relationships with others in a similar season of life. What does a village look and feel like, what can we do to create a foundation of belonging
Conversations with partners that support a strong and connected transition into parenthood, creating space to talk through common challenges before the baby arrives
Social constructs around motherhood, so new mothers can recognize societal expectations and become aware when shame, guilt, overwhelm, or identity struggles emerge.
