My Background
I delight in creating and making imaginative, connective, and beautiful experiences for children and adults.
I started working with children seventeen years ago as a public school teacher. I loved working with children but after nine years of teaching, I started to see the trend towards all day academics and decrease in opportunities for play, imagination, creativity and nature. These were the areas that I really wanted to explore with kids and soon quit teaching in the public classroom and started Nature Song.
My first project was creating a Forest School co-run by parents. We meet weekly for three years and created a cooperative of sorts for a group of five to seven families. During this time, activity learning how to create and build strong community. What started out meeting weekly but quickly added field trips, mother meetups, seasonal celebrations, and other connective ways of interacting with one another.
Nature Song has morph into a social artistry platform for kids and adults. Exploring ways to support children and adults through a variety of community gatherings, workshops and projects.
