Open Meditation
The opening meditation officially opens the circle. The purpose is to invite mothers and daughters to relax into the space, begin to synchronize with one another, and our bodies, mind, and soul fully into the present moment.

Reading of the Commitments
Each circle begins with a reading of the commitments to remind the circle of the agreed-upon expectations, as well as to allow each participant an opportunity to use their voice and become comfortable speaking in circle.

Commitments

- We are all the teachers and we are all the taught.
- We share from our hearts and speak our truth.
- What is said in circle stays in circle.
- We respect the space
- We honor our heroines, ourselves, one another, and the mother-daughter relationship.

Check-ins
Check-ins provide an opportunity for mothers and daughters to experience a sense of belonging to the group and re-establish the connection among members.

Potential check-ins could be:

- Something you are grateful for right now.
- Something you and your mother/daughter have in common.
- Something you appreciate about your mother/daughter
- Something you are excited about right now.

Introduction to the Heroine and Reading of the Affirmation
This ensures that every member of the circle has the basic knowledge of the heroine’s life story and is reminded of the month’s affirmation.

Discussion PromptsThe discussion prompts are shared to generate discussion and conscious storytelling about the heroine’s life and the month’s affirmation, as well as provide mothers and daughters an opportunity to bond together and get to know one another on an even deeper level.

Quote Study
The quotes study is used to gain familiarity with the wise words spoken by our heroines and to consider how we might apply their wisdom to our own lives.

Integrated Activity
The integrated activities allow for a fun and concrete application of that month’s affirmation.

Medicine Meditation
The medicine meditation allows participants to consider the heroine in her fullness, naming her strengths and gifts, and helps participants apply the month’s affirmation to their own lives. The word medicine comes from the word ‘to heal.’ When we talk about a heroine’s specific medicine, we are referring to her gifts and virtues that offer healing to us and the world.

Candlelight Ritual and Song
This ritual is used to symbolize our connection with the heroine and reminds the circle that the qualities that live/ed within the heroine also live within each one of us.

Closing
The circle is closed with a benediction to seal in the magic that was created together and to affirm the gifts received at the Heroines Club.
