Stewardship Team
Who is this for?
Creators redefining how they show up in their personal lives and in the work they do in the world, whether this is through a business, non-profit or as an individual change maker. If you are exploring what it means to say “yes” to life and doing it in your own authentic way, we would love to build a relationship with you.
Many of us have been raised to think and interact within a colonized system where the focus revolves around, power, getting ahead, working long hours, “pulling yourself up from your bootstraps.” Yet many of us are exploring new ways to interact, create and BE.
We are interested in exploring these ways with you in a group of 6 to 8. Not as individuals who have figured it all out but as someone learning and growing in the process.
Why consider joining?
We have found that it is rewarding to experiment and practice this shift in BEing in a community of learners that honor diversity, communication, authenticity and are openly aware of their own humanity. This is the container that we are interested in creating with you.
Sharing our thoughts, ideas and projects on social media can seem like an algorithm road-block that creates uncertainty and thoughts that we aren’t good enough or that we need to compete with others to get attention. As fellow creators, we understand this and want to support you by creating alternative ways of showing up and sharing our work. Ways that move past existing social structures, that are nurturing and healing for all involved and act in alignment with our values and personal beliefs.
We also want to find ways to make it easier for those who want to receive your work to find you by creating online and in-person spaces that are more authentic and real…less marketing more you doing the stuff that you love.
We want to help you reduce the stress and increase the resilience of being a creator. The wealth of knowledge between a group of women is by far greater than creating alone.
This commitment is for a year and we ask that you attend at least nine of the twelve circles and give between ten to fifteen hours a year to the Forest Roots Collective.
Creative Circle
Share what is real for you on a personal and creative level. Circles meet monthly, at different locations in Anchorage, Alaska. We will use this time to:
share what we are working on and how we feel about it
receive group feedback on ideas and questions
find collaborators within the group
attend a special collaborative retreat and gatherings throughout the year
