Day One: Following your Northern Star

The inner critic is a well-known character to many of us. What is this voice all about? Why is it there? What is it trying to do? How can we embrace or understand it? How do we make sure our inner voice doesn't stifle or paralyze us?

Art Activity- Driftwood Dolls

Listening to Our Inner Voice In this activity, we’ll craft driftwood dolls that symbolize our inner voice—the kind and supportive part of us that helps balance the thoughts of our inner critic. These dolls serve as a reminder of the compassionate voice within, guiding us through challenges and encouraging us to rise above difficult moments.

Day Two:  Self-Love

Cultivating happiness begins with kindness toward ourselves, releasing self-judgment, and embracing who we truly are. This means appreciating both our strengths and quirky traits—the unique qualities that make us shine. By recognizing and celebrating these, we nurture confidence and contentment. What makes you uniquely you?

Art Activity: Quirky Owl

In this activity, we'll be drawing a fun and quirky owls that represents all the special and unique things that make us who we are. Owls are known for being wise and a little bit mysterious, and just like an owl, we all have our own strengths, quirks, and cool qualities that make us one-of-a-kind. Our owls will be decorated with symbols and colors that show what makes you unique, helping you celebrate the things that make you different in the best way possible!

Day Three: Self-Empathy

Changing habits we’re not happy with gets easier when we stop holding onto guilt and shame. These emotions can hold us back, but when we shift our mindset, we create space for growth. On day three, we’ll explore how our needs, feelings, and actions are connected, and how to talk to ourselves with kindness. We'll practice recognizing our needs and offering ourselves self-empathy, even when things feel challenging.

Art Activity: Butterfly of Transformation

In this activity, we will create a three-dimensional butterfly wall hang that represents our personal journey of transformation and self-compassion. Each butterfly will symbolize a step toward self-acceptance and growth. As youth reflect on their practice of self-empathy, they can add new butterflies over time, creating a growing collection that represents their ongoing journey of self-love and healing.
