Family Forest School - 2015 - 2018

Nature Song started as Family Forest School that gathered once a week, for three years in the same beautiful location. We played, sang, and celebrated the seasons together. A co-op model was formed that allowed families to share their energy and support one another

Drop-of Forest Pre-School - Fall of 2016

The woods became our classroom, and we explored the meadow and stream. The Seedlings program that meets today, came from these early experiences in nature.

Women Circle - 2016 to 2018

A women’s circle was co-created with a close friend with the intention of bringing women together once a month to share and connect with one another. It soon became a separate entity than Nature Song that ran collaboratively for over four years.

Summer Camp - June 2024 to Present

Summer Camp was inspired as a way to get kids outside and enjoying an old fashion summer with playfulness, adventure and friendship. Over time, different camp offerings have emerged within this container, including Fairy Camp and programs for youth focused on learning heart-centered skills through art, connection, and friendship.

Forest Fellowship - 2024

Forest Fellowship was started as a way to bring individuals of different generations together to focus on the spiritual side of nature through mediation, seasonal celebrations and intentional offerings. I organized a few gatherings, it was the early start of the Forest Collective. The idea was germinating.

Workshops for Girls - 2018
Girl circles emerged as a way to bring the power of circling to girls while exploring themes that center around the tween/teen experience using art, journaling, games and sisterhood. These were the beginnings of Moon Cycle Circles. I found that girls really responded to this way of meeting.

Seedlings - 2024 to Present

Seedlings grew from Amy’s love of bringing children into nature and witnessing the ease, joy, and connection that unfold when they play together outdoors. Nature is a foundation, and so are the many ways children grow, through learning, building relationships with elders, offering care through small acts of service, and expressing themselves through art and creativity.

This program is shaped by the families who take part. It continues to evolve through shared experience, with a vision of becoming a cooperative where families learn, connect, and support one another throughout the year.

The Forest Collective - 2023 to Present

The Forest Collective grew from Amy’s experience of gathering each week with the same group of mothers. Over time, those relationships deepened and became a steady, meaningful foundation in her life. Through that experience, she felt how powerful it is to be in consistent connection during the early years of parenting.

After Covid, it became clear how much this kind of support was needed, spaces where mothers of young children could come together in an intentional way, not just to meet, but to truly connect. Drawing from her experience of creating and tending communities and circles, Amy began shaping a structure that supports families in building relationships that last.

Wandering Roots - 2025

Wandering Roots is a traveling school where families gather each week to explore art, science, nature, and more. It offers a rhythm of learning alongside the same group of people, creating space for connection, curiosity, and shared experience across the Anchorage community.

As the children grow, so will the program. The vision is to create a strong foundation for youth-led initiatives, where young people are supported in following their interests, learning through experience, and engaging more deeply with the places, people, and ideas that shape Anchorage.
